Got Them On!

So I didn’t realize that I haven’t written anything here in the past week so I thought I would do one of my recaps! Before I start that I just want to wish all the mothers out there Happy Mothers Day!
Monday - I had to email my trainer to let her know I wouldn’t make my training time as I was out of town - I still ended up going to the gym and did some time on the treadmill; it was definitely a late day for me.
Tuesday - nothing much happened.
Wednesday - Personal trainer time and she moved my butt; she even had me do ball excercises and that was hilarious. I was convinced that I would burst that ball! I plan on writing more about that at my other site; tryingtolose.com Feel free to visit there; I can use all the support I can get.
Thursday - I started my next course online; this one looks hard! Its called Human Resouces Planning and Development. I now only have 5 more courses to take towards my certification and then I have to submit to write my Knowledge exam which won’t be until 2009 sometime.
Friday - Was supposed to drive in with my manager but she called to tell me that both her’s and her husband’s car had been broken into on Thursday night. Once I got to work we started talking about our courses and realized that I wasn’t in the same course as two other coworkers. We had planned on taking Recruitment and Staffing together but I didn’t sign up for that one - well until Friday that is. I was going to do Occupational Health and Safety in June but I figured if we all took this course together we can work on the group stuff together so I came home Friday night and signed up for that one too. I see myself very busy in the near future. Friday night I had my brother’s youngest one with me while him and hubby went out to play cards. I don’t see her that often so it was a nice visit; she is a little sweetie but reminds me so much of my ex-sister in law.
Saturday - I spent the day running around doing errands for my dad and spent some time with my other niece. Also managed to spend $195.00 on clothes (in my defence everything was on sale!)
Of course hubby reminded me that I have managed to get things “on sale” for the past three weekends!
Today - My plan was to pick up my sister and her kids and go out to the cemetery with flowers for my mom and then go and work out at the gym. Well I got a little side tracked - I was stopped for speeding! I couldn’t believe it; there were set up by my sister’s house and they were actually standing in the middle of the road with the gun. I was doing 84 in a a 50 ( I know!) but when I finally got the ticket he had reduced it to 68 in a 50. At least it reduced the ticket from $259.00 and 4 points to $60.00 and no points lost. My guardian angel was definitely there for me today! You can also imagine how hard I worked at the gym today!
So that’s about it for me in a nutshell; how is everyone else doing this weekend?
I Can’t Stop

OK I can’t stop making scrapbooks now that I have discovered this online program. I decided to sign up for the 14 day free trial and am definitely thinking its worth the $4.99 a month after the trial is over. I am having a lot of fun with it all. So of course since we had my granddaughter’s First Communion on Sunday I had to do one of that day but just with a few pictures. The second one is of my nephew who really banged up his head one night when my dad and I were watching him (yeah we are great watchers eh!) So here you go - two for the price of one!

Digital Scrapbooking
Posted by Sueellen on May 4, 2008
Bobbie got me thinking about scrapbooking and all the stuff I have sitting upstairs waiting to be used. I started out all gungho and ready to scrapbook away but that kind of petered out. Then I saw Bobbie and her online scrapping and decided to try a few sites out. So far I like smilebox - I don’t have to upload my pictures anywhere and I have decided to trial their 14 day premium account. That gets rid of the ads and you can print out if you want. So dies anyone else there do digital scrapbooking? Here is my first attempt - really just pulled it together to try out the program.

Dog Days

Dog Days

When I was on my way home from the gym yesterday I happened to look over and there he was looking right at me. He looked like he had not a care in the world and couldn’t have cared at all that he was currently being rained on. I grabbed my cell phone and snapped the picture.
Yesterday had a great day at weight watchers (more at my other site about that) and a good workout at the gym. I am still amazed at myself that I like going to the gym (even without my personal trainer). It was an incredibly packed day for me yesterday and I finally walked in the house about 8 last night. Not that I am complaining as I managed to get a pedicure, get my hair done, go to the gym, do my dad’s grocery shopping (with the help of my niece) and then have dinner at my dad’s before taking my niece home. It beats sitting at home doing nothing all day I guess.
Today we are leaving soon for our granddaughter’s First Communion. I just talked with my stepdaughter and she tells me that E looks like a little princess so I can’t wait to see her. Then we are all going to their house for lunch; we are bringing my m-i-l but not sure how she will cope with all the people around so it could be a short afternoon for us. But that’s ok because there is one person that is going to be there that I simply cant’ tolerate. She is a coworker of my stepdaughter but she really has some issues. She is 53 years old and gets jealous of anyone that takes my stepdaughter’s attention from her. I can’t even begin to explain her actions; they are so freaking out there. But I plan on doing what I always do when she is around - ignore her. I have asked my stepdaughter why she is still friends with her because she constantly complains about how rude etc. she is and she tells me she feels sorry for her. She even tries to compete with me about our grandchildren; she has definite issues let me tell you. I will have to write more someday about it; right now I think I have devoted enough of my time here to her.
So, that’s my day - what’s happening in your worlds?

I definitely plan on leaving work on time today and have asked one of my coworkers to ensure I get my butt out of here on time. Hubby and I are heading over to the States to do some quick shopping and I like to get home before he gets home from work so I am ready to go. We have started going over every other Friday because I get so many more choices and options for weight watchers food over there plus the dollar is so great right now that it is worth it. The gazebo that we put up over the deck last weekend was from Target; the price was almost double in Canada for the exact same thing.
Well that’s it for my lunch break today; have a great day everyone!

We were at McDonald’s and I promised him ice cream if he ate all his hamburger so he was thrilled when he finally got his “ice dream”. I love the smile on his little face! Well they finally made it home around 10 this morning. At least they were able to get a good night’s sleep. My brother was telling us that the only food they could order at 10 at night was room service so he ordered an eight slice pizza, two cans of beer for himself and 2 drink boxes for Adam. The bill came to $58.00!!!
I had a great work out tonight - hiring a personal trainer was probably the best thing I could have ever done for myself. She knows when to push me and it felt great tonight. More about all of that will be posted over at my weight loss site.
So I am off to bed; I have an appointment at the Diabetic Center tomorrow because I am having some blood sugar issues. It’s the strangest thing - when I exercise my blood sugars go up! I am having some trouble controlling them right now but don’t want to make adjustments to my insulin without talking to a nurse first so that is the plan for tomorrow.

My brother started sending me pics from his cell phone of my nephew while they waited to fly from Buffalo. For only being 2.5 years old that little guy is quite thr traveller.
I thought it would be harder on my dad when they left today but he seemed okay; usually he gets really weepy when he has to say bye but he wasn’t to bad for him today. I think it helps that they will be back in six weeks (my s-i-l is coming as well) and then hubby and I are going to go there in August.
It was great having a four day weekend but so hard going back to work today.
I spent the evening checking flight status and am feeling blah (too many triscuits with fat free cream cheese will do that to a person).

My sister in law couldn’t come for this visit so she will definitely be coming for the June visit and then hubby and I are planning on taking my niece there in August again for a few days.
This has been a hard month for me; hence the lack of posts but I am in a much better place than I was for a few weeks. I am continuing with my new health plan, am feeling great and have lost 16 pounds in 6 weeks as of my last weigh in. I have hired personal trainer for an hour a day, two days a week for the next six months and then I also go to the gym twice a week without her. I did buy a domain where I hope to start journalling this new health challenge I have given myself and once I have it up and running will definitely share with anyone interested in following along this journey.
So, I am off to bed but I have lots to talk about and lots of pictures to post in the next few days. As well I start my next course May 9th so I see some busy days ahead of me. Excuse the plain look, I didn’t know my comments were broken - I just thought no one read me anymore! ![]()
